Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio.

What you will be doing
In this fast paced, dynamic role, your professional attitude and initiative will be key in providing high level administrative support and assistance to the General Manager and Site Leadership Team.
Your role will be varied and will include an array of tasks such as:-
- Managing, coordinating and maintaining busy diaries, including long term diary planning, travel arrangements and appointment requests for the General Manager and Site Leadership Team.
- Ensuring the General Manager and Site Leadership team are well prepared for meetings including agenda and documentation preparation for internal and external meetings.
- Organising, coordinating and managing events, such as collegiates, conferences, functions and meetings (internal and external) including arranging venues, preparing agendas and support material, and liaising with stakeholders.
- Acting as liaison between the General Manager and the Australian Business Unit team, Department Managers and external stakeholders by communicating issues and directives.
- Monitor expenses against budget, identify and investigate anomalies, and complete the budget planning for the GM cost centre.
- Accounting - Use SAP for the creation/maintenance of Newmont vendors, raising of purchase requisitions and receipting of payments against purchase orders, and use Concur to reconcile travel and miscellaneous expenses.
- Undertake specific/special projects and research as directed by General Manager and Site Leadership team.
- Manage the information systems within the office, setting up and maintaining electronic and paper filing systems, as well as identifying and improving systems when necessary.
- Ensure all documents are handled in a secure manner, maintaining confidentiality and secure storage and disposal.
- Design and implement office policies and develop recommendations for improving departmental operations and procedures.
Your flexible attitude, sound judgment, ability to engage and relate positively and diplomatically with internal and external stakeholders will be highly regarded. As will your capability to recognise and respond appropriately to issues and situations requiring confidentiality or professional discretion. You will have senior personal assistant and administrative experience with advanced skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio and a working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred). Your experience in preparing presentations, correspondence, reports and dealing with statistical data is essential.
