As such, an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor has become available, working towards delivering projects on time and within budget, safely. This role prioritises safety across the organisation from white collar to blue collar sectors. The successful candidate will seek to build positive relationships with the senior leadership and employees, delivering on outcomes such as harm reduction principles, EAP, education and compliance.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Program Leader, you will drive the development and implementation of health and safety systems and initiatives to minimise risk of injury.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and advice on the interpretation and implementation of Workplace Health, Safety & Well-being Management System
- Provide advice and support to management teams to help manage incidents and investigations and ensure that the skills, knowledge and capabilities of their workforce are meeting required standards.
- Provide advice and guidance to, and where necessary, partner with management and supervisory workers on a broad range of health, safety, wellness and workers compensation related matters
- Under guidance, assist in conducting health and safety audits in accordance with annual audit planning to measure compliance with safety management system and self-insurance licensing arrangements and report on performance at pre-determined intervals.
- Deliver training and education programs
- Contribute to the calculation and dissemination of statistical information related to health and safety
About you:
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience consulting and advising on a broad range of health and safety issues
- Demonstrated experience in generalist health and safety roles including interpretation and application of health and safety legislation, risk assessment, safety management system and incident management
- (For Senior role) Demonstrated experience independently conducting internal audits and develop/revise system documentation
- Possession of current driver's license is essential
