OPS own and operate from large modern facilities. Our Bibra Lake facility has 28,000 square meters of land and 6,000 square meters of workshop, boasting 9 overhead cranes to assist with equipment repairs, rebuilds, brand new equipment assembly and repair and maintenance of the company owned large hire fleet.

About the Opportunity…..
We are looking for a HR & Recruitment Manager to take on this vital, yet highly rewarding role, where you will be partnering with all OPS business units, providing generalist HR support across all areas of human resources. You will be reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, with key responsibilities such as end-to-end recruitment, training and development, implementing HR initiatives and delivering HSE priorities.
The HR & Recruitment Manager has an integral role in ensuring we attract and retain the right people, from recruitment and selection, to talent identification and retainment, working with Managers to create and foster environments that support the productivity and growth of our people. Your ability to have positive, supportive and meaningful conversations across all levels of our company, is essential in creating and maintaining the positive company culture that we strive for, where our people feel valued, supported and nurtured. Your knowledge and experience in identifying training needs, developing effective training programs, and facilitating training and development solutions, ensure new and existing staff feel welcome and are equipped to perform in their roles.
Your ability to provide support and advice to the leaders in our business is instrumental, whether this be ensuring OPS complies with relevant laws, regulations and awards, to assisting with conflict management and performance evaluations. The role will entail general HR and HSE administration aspects including the organisation of employee data and records, monthly reports and HR system management.
Duties include the following…..
- Conduct the end-to-end recruitment of blue and white-collar positions, including drafting of job advertisements, interviewing, reference checking, pre-employment medicals and training.
- Prepare and issue human resource documentation for employees as and when required.
- Provide assistance and manage standard business sponsorship application, business nominations, working visa applications and other business applications as needed.
- Provide generalist HR support to managers regarding team performance issues, including assisting with disciplinary meetings, performance improvement plans, warnings and terminations.
- Provide managers with support when conducting and completing investigations of any grievances or complaints, ensuring confidentiality and best practice is maintained at all times.
- Coordinate and monitor the annual performance review process, ensuring full company completion.
- Provide administration assistance in the development and maintenance of the HSE systems, including maintaining an up-to-date register of incidents, accidents and injuries.
- Manage the workers compensation claim process, providing support and education to managers with injury management and return to work for employees.
- Actively contribute to management discussions on retention strategies to support the continued growth of the business and development of employees.
- Manage the Training Matrix, Training Plan and Online Training Platform on behalf of the OPS Group, ensuring training is scheduled ahead of expiration, qualifications are recorded and position-based training is managed in consultation with operations.
- Provide monthly reports to the Chief Executive Officer in relation to human resources and safety statistics.
About you….
Qualifications / Tickets / Licenses:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related field.
- Current unrestricted ‘C’ Class Driver’s License.
Experience:
- A recent working history in the human resources field, as either a HR Generalist, Manager, Coordinator, or experience in a similar role.
- Experience working in the mining, mineral processing or quarrying industries would be highly desirable.
Knowledge and Behaviours:
- Have strong recruiting and talent selection practices.
- Be a highly motived, positive and enthusiastic professional, who's passionate about people and culture.
- Thorough knowledge of HR principles, practices and employment laws.
- Be intuitive and highly organised, with the ability to work on different projects concurrently.
- Have a strong attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High proficiency skill level in Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data and information.
