A well-known and family ran Cairns based technology company with deep ties to the local community are seeking a permanent IT Business Development Manager (with previous hands on technical experience) to assist with this organisations continual growth across the Northern QLD region!
Your new role
This organisation offers a range of different technical services varying from AV (Audio Visual) deployment to network infrastructure upgrades to printer hardware configuration and everything in-between for a multitude of clients in different sectors (mining, financial, medical, etc) across the region.
Started over 15 years ago by a local family (who still run it to this day) with ties to the local community, this organisation prides itself on prioritising work-life balance and employee wellbeing above all else. From its inception the founders recognised that these factors are fundamental for any business to succeed so best practices are enforced to ensure everyone is happy and thriving in the company. These practices take many forms from having yearly Xmas shutdowns, regular workplace reviews, instructing staff to not work past business hours (and paying overtime if this rarely occurs), declining new clients as to not overwork their staff and to not provide 24/7 technical support such that no one has to be on call.
Employee and workplace culture is a key driving factor to this organisation's continual success and from it, its growth (and as a testament to this, a number of their employees have been with this organisation for 10+ years). To contribute to this growth, this organisation are now seeking a dedicated IT Business Development Manager. Working alongside your AV counterpart, you will work with new and existing clients to generate business and projects for the technical members of staff. Liaising with stakeholders from Business Owners to Project Managers located in PNG and throughout QLD, no two days will be the same.
Although already having an established and strong client base, there are a large number of perspective organisations to target adding to this roles significant scope for growth. Combining this with the projects this organisation work on being in the $200,000 range and above, this roles scale is impressive.
Working with clients to establish their needs, advising on best technological use cases, translating 'tech speak' to non-technical staff, negotiating contracts, liaising with engineering, following up on deadlines, co-ordinating teams and attending trade shows are just some of the activities you can expect in this diverse role!
Aside from working onsite, travel may be required (with a company vehicle supplied) as and when. This could be to check the status of projects, to co-ordinate teams or to give a update to the end client(s).
What you'll need to succeed
You will need experience/knowledge/to be able to do as much of the following as possible:

- Organisational and coordination skills
- Working with individuals across all levels of an organisation
- Technical documentation
- Australian/international driving license
