Our client is one of Melbourne's leading schools located east of the CBD. A newly-created opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join them in a permanent, full time role. On offer is an inclusive and down-to-earth environment, commercial management accounting role, parking on site and an opportunity to work in the Education Sector.
The Challenge
As part of this role you will be required to provide accurate and insightful financial reporting and analysis which will enable the business to make strategic operational decisions. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your main responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly financial results, with a focus on the P&L, cash flow and commentary of variances against budget
- Preparing annual budget for payroll and other P&L expense items
- Maintain the school's long-term financial forecasting model
- Review of Fixed, Asset Register and CAPEX WIP accounts
- Ensure accurate recording, management, and monitoring of Time in Lieu, leave balances, and provisions for employee entitlements
- Management of two finance team members
- Other ad hoc duties to support the Finance Manager and the Director of Finance
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- 5 plus years experience, ideally from within professional services or similar
- CPA or CA qualified
- Strong decision making and strategic thinking abilities
- Familiarity with academic or institutional management processes would be highly regarded
- High levels of initiative with a proactive, forward-thinking attitude
- Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with financial and non-financial stakeholders
