Ventia’s Payroll Officer position is based in our modern office in West End, Brisbane with off street parking. You will be part of an established finance team supporting a contract relating to the delivery of facilities management services for a major mining company. This is a permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday role and Venita offers a diverse range of career opportunities and progression across Australia and New Zealand.
Key duties, but not limited to
- Process payroll each pay cycle, including management & tracking of central mailbox
- Payroll administration, reporting & managing & resolving payroll queries
- Collecting, calculating & entering data to maintain & update payroll information
- Ensure all payroll input & maintenance is accurate appropriate authorisation is in place
- Identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies in timesheet & payroll records
- Manage payroll queries in an efficient manner within agreed service level timeframes.
- Management of recovery of overpayments for active & terminated employees
- Ensure compliance with legislation, EBAs & employee contracts
Skills & experience
- Experience in payroll processing & able to always maintain confidentiality
- Computer literate with skills in Excel, Word & email
- Prior experience with SAP will be highly regarded
- High level of attention to detail, initiative, analytical & problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational & time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills with focus to increase customer satisfaction
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely & confidently both written and orally
- Flexible attitude to work additional hours to meet payroll deadlines and demand
