More action is needed to reduce emissions and manage climate change. At the SEC, we are building an enterprising and dynamic team to accelerate Victoria’s transition to renewables and help achieve Victoria’s renewable energy target of 95% by 2035.  
 
We are working together for renewable, affordable reliable energy for all Victorians.   
 
Your role  
As a People & Culture (P&C) Coordinator at the SEC, you will be providing support in various P&C functions including recruitment and onboarding activities, performance management, employee relations, learning and development, and HR Administration. 
 
The role can be based in either our Melbourne CBD office or our regional office located in Morwell
 
What you will do:  
  • Assist with onboarding of new hire activities including drafting of employment contracts and managing new hire documentation for onboarding including payroll. 
  • Supporting the GM P&C and P&C business partners with HR related queries related to policies, procedures, and other HR adhoc matters. 
  • Coordinate training sessions and employee workshops including scheduling, logistics and materials preparation. 
  • Maintaining training records and assist with identifying development needs for individuals and teams 
  • Manage the HRIS data entry and accuracy of employee records 
  • Prepare and maintain HR documents such as contracts, policies, procedures, etc.

  • Demonstrate integrity and discretion when handling sensitive employee information and HR-related matters. 
  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing HR issues, with the ability to propose practical solutions. 
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across different departments to achieve common goals and objectives. 
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements in the HR function, while maintaining a positive attitude. 
  • Provide exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on responsiveness and professionalism. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with employees, managers, and external stakeholders. 
 
Highly Desirable:  
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or related field. 
  • Previous experience in HR coordination or administration  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software. 
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations. 
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members at all levels. 
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferably within the public sector or a similar large-scale organization
