Planning Coordinator

Moyne Shire is currently seeking suitably qualified and experienced Planning Coordinator. The successful applicant for this position will be based in stunning Port Fairy, and will undertake a broad range of planning processes and duties.

In this role you will:

• Lead, coordinate and mentor an efficient, effective and customer focused statutory planning team.
• Lead and coordinate statutory planning processes for a broad range of urban, rural, heritage and major energy projects.
• Prepare submissions and represent the council in a professional manner at Victorian Civil Administrative Tribunal panel hearings.
• Provide expert advice regarding the implementation and continuous improvement of the statutory planning service to relevant staff and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will need
Qualifications
Essential

• Current Victorian driver Licence

Desirable

• Tertiary qualification in land use planning or equivalent and eligibility for membership of Planning Institute of Australia

• Accreditation as a Certified Practicing Planner.

Experience
Desirable

• A minimum of five years’ experience as in local government planning role.
• Experience in a team leader or coordinator role.

Key selection criteria 1

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of planning systems, policies and relevant legislation and its application.

Key selection criteria 2

Superior level of written, spoken, listening and presentation skills including the ability to advocate, negotiate, influence, motivate and gain cooperation to achieve positive outcomes.

Key selection criteria 3

High level interpersonal leadership, supervisory and mentoring skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead a high performing team and develop cross organisational relationships.
