about the role:
Science & Technology Australia is looking for a motivated and experienced Programs Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, demonstrate good judgement, be articulate and a great multi-tasker. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will provide efficient, professional and confidential administrative assistance to the Superstars of STEM program and the Science Policy Fellows Alumni program.
This is an exciting position offered as a 0.6 FTE part-time role for 6 months with the possibility of extension, based in our Canberra office.
Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive and well organised administrative support to the Program Manager including but not limited to correspondence, database management, and event logistics.
- Be the main point of contact for program participants regarding training, opportunities and mentoring components of the Superstars of STEM program.
- Assist with the application process and selection of participants for the Superstars of STEM program.
- Coordinate travel for program participants as required.
- Lead the delivery of the Science Policy Fellow Alumni program including organising meetings and events, supporting the leadership group, and completing progress reports.
- Other duties as required.
- Excellent administration skills, including database management, correspondence and event logistics.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Outstanding attention to detail and time management, and an ability to juggle competing priorities and respond quickly and professionally as issues unfold.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to nurture successful relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Dedication and willingness to assist other staff across the STA team.
