The team at Garmin are looking to expand. If you enjoy travelling, are passionate about Diving, Hunting and the Outdoors, then we have a position for you. We’re looking for a team member to cultivate, expand and develop sales focusing on the Outdoor/Diving and PND categories.
Extensive travel across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania is required, as well as attending State and local shows. The position is based from your home office, primarily reporting to the Outdoor Sales manager in our New Zealand office. The position will also have significant contact with and direction from other product category managers to execute market requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Passionately and professionally promote Garmin products through reseller and BTB channels
- Establish and execute sales plans, sales promotions
- Establish and maintain dealer relationships and existing accounts
- Provide reseller support as required to facilitate revenue through Garmin Australasia
- Territory development
- Create mew business growth and sales to independent dealer networks
- Develop and execute strategies to increase market share and revenue within a specific region
- Monitor market for competitive strategies and pricing
- Create and make sales presentations to prospective and existing accounts
- Attend and help coordinate trade and consumer shows throughout Australia and overseas, including weekend work when required
- Travel with little or no supervision - extensive travel of territory
- Educate dealers and perform product training sessions for dealers when appropriate and attendance at events across Australia
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete timely and succinct trip and status reports
- Excellent product and pricing knowledge
- Retail merchandising and execute in-store marketing promotions
- Travel to Sydney HQ for training and regular sales meetings
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Adhere to established policies and procedures
- Work effectively and professionally with other team members, learns from and shares knowledge with others by documenting and contributing to knowledge base
EDUCATION,EXPERENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Extremely self-motivated, enthusiastic outdoors focused salesperson with 3+ years of experience in sales
- Exceptional communication oral/written and interpersonal relationship skills
- Excellent organization skills and proficient in Word and Excel
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience with GPS and consumer electronics. Understanding of the uses and general functions of Handheld GPS, and electronics in the Hunting and Diving markets
- Ability to present to large groups
- Valid Drivers License and passport required
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience selling to consumer retail
- A focus on living an outdoor lifestyle and participation in spearfishing/SCUBA/diving, hunting, archery, bow-hunting, fishing and 4-wheel drive enthusiast is highly desirable
