This position is responsible for all aspects of managing the daily operations of the Support Services within the facility.
About the RoleThe Support Services Coordinator will report to the Facility Manager from Monday to Friday with a requirement to work one weekend per month. Two days off in lieu will apply for the weekend worked.
The Support Services Coordinator will ensure that the Support Services meet the requirements for the residential aged care home. Key tasks are outlined below:
- Servery staff are supervised and trained in the requirements of food preparation, service delivery and food presentation.
- Ongoing training in use of rational ovens to ensure servery staff understand the proper function of the rational ovens.
- Meals are rethermed (heated) to the correct temperature.
- All food heating logs are recorded in accordance with Food safety regulations.
- Staff are focused on customer service when serving meals to residents
- Meals are plated and presented to residents in a suitable manner.
- appropriate volume of food is available for resident meals.
- Maintain residents dining room including that tables are set correctly, to provide a high-level dining experience for residents.
- Wastage and shortage reports are maintained with a communication link back to the Facility Manager.
- Resident complaints and concerns are logged and satisfactorily resolved.
- Servery staff are proficient in texture modified diets.
- Other food service tasks as required.
- Ensure the cleaning and laundry staff are conducting their functions efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain labelling of resident personal linen.
- Manage laundry staff to deliver efficient operation of resident’s personal laundry.
- Liaise with external laundry provider on all aspects of linen services.
- A high level of interpersonal communication skills, including active listening;

- Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent;
- Demonstrated compliance with Workplace Regulations, Australian Standards, Infection Control, Health & Safety and relevant industry standards including Food Safety Plans;
- Accredited Food Safety Supervisor’s Certificate.
- A demonstrable working knowledge of the Aged Care Act and accreditation requirements.
- Food handling certificate;
