The opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Account Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for cultivating and maximising an existing account portfolio within the South-East region of Victoria, while also developing business with new clients to drive portfolio growth. The primary objectives are to meet sales targets, maintain budgets, and provide exceptional service to our clients.
This position will require you to be in the field, engaging in hands-on sales and service activities. Extensive travel will be necessary, as well as face-to-face appointments with clients. Additionally, you will utilise electronic methods such as video and phone calls to engage with customers.
Reporting to the Regional Manager your key responsibilities will be:
- Sell a wide variety of industrial chemical solutions across a variety of sectors whilst creating value through differentiation, continuous improvements, and service
- Maintain chemical equipment and grow sales and relationships within an existing portfolio of customers, whilst developing new business opportunities to add to your portfolio
- Understand customers commercial requirements whilst achieving optimal margin through agreed pricing strategy
- Develop and execute monthly service calls
- Create quotations, place orders and complete monthly service reports
- Assist management in sales forecast, sales pipeline and price increase negotiations
- Forecast and forward plan customer requirements where possible to ensure a smooth continuity of supply
- Monitor and report back customer and competitor activity, risks & opportunities
- Identifying opportunities for business improvement and strategic new business opportunities
What we are looking for in you:
- Well-developed negotiation skills, coupled with excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Demonstrated experience in business planning, including the creation of comprehensive account management plans and the development of a pipeline of new business targets
- Strong prioritising skills to effectively manage various workloads and meet daily deadlines
- Proficiency in developing and demonstrating specialist product and industry knowledge, enabling effective communication with clients at all organisational levels to translate their needs into viable solutions
- Critical thinking abilities when devising plans and executing strategies effectively
- Exceptional organisational skills encompassing time management, email correspondence and diary management to efficiently handle various tasks and responsibilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, to create documents, spreadsheets and presentations necessary for sales and service activities
- Strong technical skills and a solution-based approach to effectively address client needs and provide innovative solutions
- A clear understanding of what it means to "own the outcome" and "own your territory," demonstrating accountability and ownership over all aspects of account management and sales within the assigned territory
