We have a lean and flat structure with a performance driven and caring culture, and you will have significant independence to shape your role and contribute to successful performance of the team and our company.Our Commercial and Business Development team is passionate about our customers, our success is rooted in the loyalty, hard work and dedication we demonstrate to our customers, stakeholders, business and with one another.What You Will Do Reporting to the Regional Chief Commercial Officer in Sydney, a key member of the Svitzer Australia and Svitzer Global Commercial communities, you will be responsible for identifying, prioritising and developing growth opportunities for Svitzer in Australia and Oceania. This entails driving the end-to-end Business Development, including identifying and developing growth opportunities, tender management, and owning the relationships with Key Clients in the resource and energy industries.The Business Development Manager is expected to play a lead role in managing the tender process, developing customer value propositions including strategy, solution development, pricing of services, proposal submission and internal approvals. In addition, taking on a key role of ensuring our existing clients are well cared for and satisfied with the level of service we offer.Opportunity Management (Hunting): Liaise with external and internal stakeholders to set direction, source and develop attractive long-term opportunities in the marine services industry, progressing through stages of maturity in close collaboration with our regional and global teams;Key Client Management (Farming): Build and continuously improve relationships with a small number of long-term Key Clients from the resource and energy industries through consistent approach, deep curiosity and ensuring their needs are known and met. Be the voice of our customers within our company.Business Development Process: Facilitate collaboration and take lead on ensuring best practice sharing across teams, functions, and regions. Drive continuous improvement in the Business Development strategy, process, and framework;Tender management: Ensure delivery of winning proposals on time and as per defined strategy through collaborative approach, project management, and utilisation of best-in-class tools, process steps and materials;Solutions development: Facilitate development of unique value propositions rooted in customers' needs, pain points and key requirements;Subject matter expertise: Play a key role in customer negotiations, commercial analytics, market intelligence and pricing proposals;Voice of Customer: Partner and coach leadership and local port management teams in fostering excellent customer and stakeholder relations;Compliance Champion: Uphold governance and trade practice and competition compliance requirements.Strategic, skilled, passionate and great with people: here's who we're looking forCustomer focused: you always put the customer first and have the curiosity and can-do attitude to uncover and solve customer problems. You successfully balance between a farmer and hunter mindset to uncover growth opportunities and enrich existing customer relationships.Industry experience: you are well versed in the maritime and resource & energy industries and have a solid foundation of relationships and expertise, allowing you to hit the ground running.Business development toolbox: you have the experience (more than 5 years) and toolbox to deliver best-in-class Business Development and tender management results.Project oriented: you have strong project management skills allowing you to lead and structure multiple growth projects.Financial acumen: you possess in-depth financial knowledge and are comfortable with producing investment appraisal models, business case memos and strategy recommendations to senior managementEnjoy being hands on: you will play a key role in cross-functional and cross-border teams where you need to be able to effectively work across geographies and hierarchies and deliver both as an individual contributor and indirect leader of othersHigh energy: your enthusiasm is infectious, and you thrive working in a team. Your entrepreneurial spirit and mindset inspire others to action.You have a relevant Bachelor or Master's Degree and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
