Job description

An excellent opportunity is available for aCommunications and Marketing Managerto lead integrated communications for the Snow Centre for Immune Health at Australia's pre-eminent biomedical research institute.

About the Position
The Snow Medical Research Foundation (Snow Medical) is establishing one of the world's leading immunology research centres at WEHI. The Snow Centre for Immune Health is funded by one of the largest and longest running philanthropic partnerships in Australian history.

Co-led by WEHI and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, the new centre will bring together leading Australian and international researchers to transform how we research and treat the immune system. Through collaboration, it will accelerate the pace of medical discovery at a scale not seen anywhere else in the world.

Thanks to the generous investment from founding donor, Snow Medical, the centre will enable integration of research and clinical practices via the establishment of a longitudinal study of patients with immune disorders at Royal Melbourne Hospital. This will provide valuable samples, longitudinal monitoring, and real-world testing of immune health discoveries with the ultimate aim of improving lives of those affected by immune disease over the next decade.

The Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing integrated communications activity to promote the Snow Centre for Immune Health and build a community of engaged supporters, by increasing awareness of its brand and support for its research and strategic initiatives.

The role proactively builds and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders and provides high-level strategic communications advice to centre and WEHI leaders and staff, with the overarching aim of promoting the centre and protecting its reputation whilst also having a strong focus on the centre's communications outreach activities.

As a manager role within a small team, you will model a strong commitment to quality and consistently deliver accurate and engaging content.

Using your knowledge of the centre's strategic priorities, the media landscape and effective storytelling you will advise researchers and leaders on effective strategies for reaching target audiences and maximising impact.

You will have strong digital expertise, overseeing the creation and roll out of website and social media content.

You will understand the importance of tracking the outcomes of an integrated suite of communications activity and contribute to capturing qualitative and quantitative impact of communications strategies as part of the broader team's reporting activities.
