About the Project:
The Scarborough gas resource is in the Carnarvon Basin, offshore Western Australia, and it will be developed through new offshore facilities connected by an approximately 430 km export trunkline with a 36/32 in. dia. to a second LNG train (Pluto Train 2) at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility. The development will be among the lowest carbon intensity sources of LNG globally.
Saipem Australia has been awarded the Offshore Installation Contract by Woodside for the coating, transportation, and installation of the trunkline, at a maximum water depth of 1400 m, including the fabrication and installation of the line structures and of the pipeline end termination in 950-m water depth. Offshore operations are planned to start in mid-2023 and will be mainly conducted by the Castorone vessel.

About the role
Saipem Australia is seeking a professional and dedicated Cost Control Engineer on the Scarborough Project.
Reporting to the Senior Cost Controller, you will manage Internal and External cost control activities to support the Project Control Lead.
The position will initially be a 9-month contract. The role will be based at our head office in West Perth with easy access to public transport.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage Internal and External cost control activities to support the Project Control Lead;
- Ensure the Cost Control System works effectively, and cost status is soundly assessed and reported;
- Supporting Invoice review, management and payment follow ups;
- Budget Reforecasting, Budget Analysis, and variance commentary;
- Ensure the implementation of the Cost Control System, Cost Breakdown Structure, and verifying the application of the CBS and the cost traceability;
- Cost Control Report, Reforecasting, Cashflow management, Accruals Reporting;
- Support the Project during the contract changes/claims process providing the cost impact analysis and keep updated the cost/revenues forecast;
- Subcontractor Budgets, Invoice verification and management;
- Monitor activity progress and the relevant earned value, as well as the value of work done and determining the monthly accruals; and
- Perform any other ad‐hoc duties from time to time.
Professional Qualifications
- 4 – 5 years’ experience;
- Degree in Business Economics school and Management Engineering, if not similar degrees or graduated to Accounting school;
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to learn new systems and tools;
- Understanding of cost terminology, budget allocation, cost estimating, WBS/CBS, change management and risk management;
- Highly effective communication skills and ability to develop and present management reports at all levels;
- Analytical/technical skills with a practical approach to problem solving.;
- Demonstrated proficiency with databases, preferably SAP; and
- Excellent verbal and written communications (in English), with very strong attention to detail and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately, logically, and directly;
