The role:
We are currently seeking a Legal Secretary to work within our Workplace Insurance team in Melbourne. This role will work closely with experienced and respected Partners and legal professionals on a range Workers' Compensation matters.
The duties:
Working within a close knit team, you will be responsible for:
• Working on large documents, recording track changes and mark ups;
• Opening, maintaining and closing files;
• Preparing legal documents, correspondence, emails, memos and letters;
• Personal assistant tasks (diary and travel management);
• Liaising with clients and staff on day to day matters;
• Assisting with preparation of briefs, court books and court documents;
• Billing.
To be successful in this role you will have:
• Minimum 12 months legal secretarial experience in a similar role;
• Advanced skills in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook;
• Proficiency using Expert or similar accounting package and FileSite or similar document; management system ;
• A minimum typing speed of 65wpm;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Demonstrated understanding of the importance of client confidentiality;
• The ability to work well with others in a team environment;
• Initiative and the ability to work unsupervised.
