Your Role:
As the Business Development Manager for Metro, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and onboarding new business.
Your goal will be to self-generate new client opportunities, expand our client base, and achieve revenue targets.
Cultivating and nurturing prospect relationships as they turn into clients is key to your success in this role.
Your key responsibilities will involve:
- Hunting and prospecting to create new sales meetings and develop new business within your state
- Identify, prospect, and cultivate relationships with potential clients
- Collaborate with the National Sales Director on promotional campaigns to enhance our company's visibility
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and showcase our services
- Create transport solutions and negotiate rates, contracts, and agreements with clients, to be mutually beneficial
- Monitor industry trends and keep abreast of changes and developments in the transportation sector
- Work closely with the State Managers & operations team to ensure seamless onboarding service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Utilise the CRM to record activities on pipeline, opportunities, and wins
What you will need to snare this role:
- Practical experience in creating business opportunities and closing new clients
- The drive to aggressively help more businesses by solving their transport issues
- Attend self-generated sales appointments
- The ability to execute on sales strategies provided by the business
- Provide both strategic and tactical transport solutions to clients
- Have an understanding of logistics and supply chain management
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
