Job Description
  • Job Title: Business Development Manager
  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday (Required to visit the Glasgow site once per week)
  • Job Location: Glasgow (Required to travel to the USA on a monthly basis)
  • Salary: Competitive + Benefits (Depending on the level of sales experience and industry knowledge)
Traveling to our USA clients and sites on a monthly basis for approximately 2 weeks at a time (All expenses and travel will be paid for).We are seeking a talented and driven Pharmaceutical Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth. With a focus on understanding market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes, you will lead initiatives to expand our product portfolio, enhance market penetration, and strengthen our position in key therapeutic areas.Responsibilities:
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including licensing, partnerships, and acquisitions, aligned with corporate strategic objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, healthcare organizations, and regulatory agencies.
  • Lead negotiations and collaborate cross-functionally to execute partnership agreements, licensing deals, and other business transactions.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and potential growth opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of partnerships and alliances, making recommendations for optimization and enhancement as needed.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, and market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate will be someone with extensive experience within sales, and hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Biotechnology or a related field in Drug Development / Life Sciences. We'd also like to hear from candidates who;
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, and would like to develop their career within the Pharmaceutical/ Biotherapeutics sector, (full training will be given if no experience in the industry).
Skills required for Business Development Manager
  • Proven track record of success in Business Development, sales, or a related role.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
