About the role
As the Business Development Manager, you will be actively driving the commercial success of our business. This is a newly created role designed to lead our genuine connection with our biggest clients, focused on providing exceptional customer service and relationship management.
Working closely with and reporting to the Managing Director, you will have overall accountability for sales budget management and reaching our revenue targets. You will have creative autonomy with event pitches and venue tender processes and will collaborate with our Technical and Operations teams to develop client-ready event solutions that have a wow-factor.
Showing strong commercial acumen and Business Development confidence, you will be able to naturally identify and build new, sustainable and repeat sales opportunities with high conversion rates.
About you
- You have solid experience in technical event management and delivery, particularly in venues and conference settings.
- You are creative and client-focused and are able to drive revenue strategies that support both business and customer needs.
- You are a natural networker who develops trusted and effective business relationships that reflect our values.
- Your commercial acumen and success are built on experience identifying, researching and attracting new business opportunities in line with key growth areas.
- Your events industry knowledge and experience allow you to effectively analyse market trends and identify strategic opportunities for growth.
- You are both a confident communicator and active listener, and you naturally build stakeholder confidence by delivering solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.
- You thrive in a business environment where you can positively contribute to culture and growth in a meaningful way.
- You are agile and versatile, and you instinctively recognise that this role will require an out-of-hours commitment and the regular need for local and occasional interstate travel.
- Your team ethos is ingrained, and you can look at things from a whole-of-business perspective.
