Our client is a nationally recognised Optical Group requiring a highly motivated BDM to assist with support and growth
This role provides administrative support to the Client’s General Manager, facilitating communication between Client’s licensees and both contracted and non-contracted suppliers. Additionally, it actively contributes to acquiring new licensee practices and aiding existing ones in practice management and growth. The position collaborates closely with the National Office to ensure optimal outcomes for the client.Key Responsibilities:
- Targeting high-quality, independent optometry practice owners to join the organisation and promoting the benefits of membership.
- Conducting Practice Business Reviews at existing licensee practices, analysing performance and addressing any issues.
- Administering and managing licensee needs regarding advertising support systems, supplier offers, and facilitating training sessions.
- Initiating the formation of regional advertising for licensee practices in coordination with the National Office.
- Assisting licensees with succession planning, including preparing practice business summaries and connecting them with potential buyers.
- Coordinating with and assisting the National Office with various administrative and contractual processes.
- Overseeing advertising in industry publications and representing the Client at national and regional trade fairs and events.
Capabilities:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a commercial environment.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a sales/Business Development role in optometry
- Proven track record of providing high levels of support and business advice in a small/medium business setting.
- Strong business acumen and accountability for revenue targets through sales and service provision.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in the optical industry, particularly with a lens/contact lens background.
- Experience in managing membership organizations or similar entities.
