This Business Manager/Bursar role is being offered with a full handover from the current employee who will be retiring in 12 months. Training hours as follows:
- Starting hours: 15 hours per week (30 hours per fortnight), over 2 or 3 days
- At 6 months: Increased to 22.5 hours per week (45 hours per fortnight), over 3 or 4 days.
- After 12 months: Possibility of extension to role and more hours.
Flexible working arrangements available after training completed.
Working out of the Parkville Community office the primary responsibilities and objectives of the Bursar are:
- Staff support and management.
- Maintain financial records and administrative systems (MYOB) including preparing annual budgets
- Payroll reporting and HR duties
- Asset management.
- Risk, insurance and compliance management.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming home to live, visit and work in.
Skills required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
- Organisational Skills: Demonstrate strong organisational, planning, and coordination skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively amidst multiple demands.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are essential, with the capacity to communicate effectively at all levels within the community and external stakeholders.
- Confidentiality: Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality in handling all matters related to school administration.
- Commitment to Ethos: Demonstrate a commitment to the ethos, values, and mission of Catholic education.
- Previous experience in a similar role would be looked upon favourably. Commitment to confidentiality and Catholic ethos, being Catholic not essential.
