About the Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced Project Lead to join our Communications Networks maintenance team in a full-time permanent capacity based at our CBD head office.
This position will be responsible for managing the design and construction of minor fibre optic cable network augmentation, and for audit and maintenance activities on existing fibre optic cable communications network. In addition, this role will play a key role in ensuring agreed project deliverables and targets are achieved across our optic fibre Communication Projects.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have experience working out in the field on project sites and will have a background and proven track record in end-to-end project management, preferably involving fibre optic communications network construction and infrastructure. In addition, this candidate will be excellent at building strong relationships with stakeholders, problem solving complex issues and have excellent communication skills and time management skills.
Please note there will be a requirement of the role to participate in a rotating out of hours Availability Roster for which you will be compensated.
In this role you will deliver:
- Oversee and facilitate single or multiple fibre optic construction projects to ensure on time, within budget, to the required quality, OH&S & environmental standards, ensuring customer and commercial needs are consistently delivered
- Manage internal & sub-contract resources in a professional, compliant, and efficient manner to achieve balanced outcomes
- Prepare conceptual & final project scopes, ensuring Company and regulatory requirements are satisfied
- Contribute to development & improvement of project management systems & implement in all business operations by capturing learnings & identifying opportunities
- Carry out network condition auditing on existing fibre optic cable infrastructure constructed overhead, underground, in substations and indoor environments such as office buildings.
- Manage auditing of fibre optic network splice joints and termination panels; collate, analyse, interpret, and summarise the results.
- Implement a safe working culture at all levels and ensure all health & safety policies, procedures and practices are adhered to at all times.
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Project Management professional qualification (preferred)
- Knowledge of overhead and underground fibre design and construction (Preferred)
- Knowledge of fibre optic communications network concepts (Preferred)
- Knowledge of logical fault finding techniques in a communications network (Preferred)
- Demonstrated commitment and evidence of consistently delivering, managing, and working with others, aligned with organisational values
- Proven relationship and stakeholder management experience - managing demand and delivery expectations effectively.
