Based just outside of the Melbourne CBD, these roles present an opportunity to work for a large Federal Government within a Service Design and Improvement Branch. In the branch the Business Analysts are required to provide technical, professional, policy and operation support advice in relation to a range of complex issues. These positions will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve internal service delivery processes and systems.
These role is ideal for candidates with a background in strategic planning, risk coordination/management, program/project management and policy development. Candidates will need to have strong demonstrated stakeholder management experience as these positions will be required to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the agency.
On offer is a 12 month labour-hire contract with potential to extend beyond, based in Richmond with flexible working arrangements.
Duties and responsibilities in these positions include but are not limited to…
- Identifying and documenting current business processes to create a baseline understanding of current situations and processes.
- Creating and facilitating process design improvements by conducting business and systems process analysis.
- Providing program/stream level analysis and producing required analysis documentation.
- Evaluating effectiveness of proposed solutions and design.
- Leading transition of business requirements over to build teams for development.
- Supporting verification testing of the built solution to ensure alignment to business requirements.
- Business process analysis: Proficiency in analysing and documenting current state versus future state process maps.
- Requirement gathering: Ability to elicit, document and manage business requirements into Epics and User Stories
- Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements
- Testing: Ability to undertake systems testing against defined acceptance criteria during the build and testing cycles of development
- Stakeholder engagement: Facilitating workshops with other stakeholders, Business Analysts, User Experience and User Interface (UX/UI) Designers and technology teams.
- Risk assessment: Identifying potential issues or risks, tracking problems, recommending alternatives, and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Supporting product end users including responding to feedback, collecting evidence of a defect, organising testing or other activities.
- System thinking: Developing and maintaining subject matter expertise across new systems and processes within the agency.
- Data analysis: Skill in analysing data to identify trends and insights
- Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with agile methodologies like Agile or Kanban
- Business Analysis Tools: Knowledge of tools such as Jira and Confluence for documentation and workflow management
- Process Improvement: Experience in recommending and implementing process improvements
- Cross-functional collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with team members from various disciplines

- currently hold or have the ability to pass a national police check
- Availability to work full-time hours Monday - Friday on a long term basis
