Our client is a not-for-profit community-based centre dedicated to providing out-of-school-hours programs for students. The service operates during NSW school holidays, offering before-school care (7:00 am - 9:00 am) and after-school care (3:00 pm - 6:00 pm). They prioritise creating an environment that fosters healthy lifestyles, community involvement, and diversity, where children can make friends, have fun, and engage in enriching activities.
We are currently seeking a passionate individual to join their team in the following role:
Position: Out-of-School-Hours Care Educator
Location: Northmead, NSW
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director and Educational Leader to develop and implement innovative and stimulating programs for children aged 5-12 years.
- Work a minimum of 33 hours per week across before and after-school care, with the possibility of additional hours during vacation care.
- Potentially assume the role of Responsible Person in the absence of the Nominated Supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
- Engage actively with children, fostering their sense of belonging and desire to learn.
- Energetic and spontaneous with a sense of fun, actively contributing to the children’s program.
- Ability to build respectful and responsive relationships with children and families.
- Commitment to inclusion and supporting children with diverse needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively, take initiative, and think critically.
- Dedication to ongoing professional development and learning.
- Compliance with child safety regulations and protocols.
- Experience working with children aged 5-12 in an educational setting.
- Previous experience in a leadership role.
- Qualifications such as Cert IV, Cert III, or Diploma in OOSH, Education Support, or Early Childhood Education.
- Familiarity with the National Quality Framework and 'My Time Our Place' Framework.
- Valid NSW Working with Children Check.
- Current Accredited First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Accredited Emergency Asthma Management Training (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Accredited Anaphylaxis Management Training (or willingness to obtain).
- Child Protection Qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- Understanding of the National Quality Framework and 'My Time Our Place' Framework.
