About the role
Provide administrative and transactional processing support to the payroll function and a high level of customer service to both internal and external clients and promote compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Key accountabilities
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll related to data, respecting appropriate confidentiality.
- Prioritise and manage your work to support the payroll team to meet its target, timelines and project milestones.
- Ensure payroll related information, advice and education to employees, managers or external parties is in line with WorkSafe's policies and procedures and appropriate to the situation.
- Follow up queries and escalate any difficult, complex or non-compliant matters outside of policy to the Team Leader.
- Contribute payroll knowledge and capability to assist in maintaining and developing payroll systems, processes and procedures, including recommending and implementing improvements initiatives.

About you
You are an experienced Payroll Officer who wants to make a difference. Your communication and organisational skills are highly developed. You have exceptional attention to detail, and a team oriented person who enjoys delivering high quality service to all stakeholders. In addition, you will also demonstrate:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in processing a full range of payroll activities and, in particular, in using an integrated windows based HRIS Payroll system.
- Strong keyboard skills and experience with a variety of software, including MS Excel, Word and Outlook, with a high degree of accuracy.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer service focus.
- Proven ability to prioritise, schedule and organise work within strict timelines.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as being capable of working independently.
- Understanding and commitment to process improvement.
