The companyDue to consistent growth, this well-known and trusted national distributor of energy distribution, energy management, protection and wiring accessories is seeking aBusiness Development Manager, to manage existing relationships whilst developing new business.
The position
The aim of this role is to target multi-residential and commercial project, identify and build relationships with the key stakeholders such as the electrical contractors, architects, electrical consultants/specifiers, and electrical engineers.
To achieve this, you will need to have existing relationships in these markets, along with strong sales skills and habits – planned with call cycles, a good awareness of upcoming projects in the region, ability to work autonomously, great communication skills and a desire to provide exceptional service.
Duties include:
- Developing project pipelines and promoting company products/services (determine what components are required in an electrical component and present to various areas on where you can support from a technical position).
- Providing project management services for orders from customers including negotiation and resolution.
- Maintaining regular service to customers within VIC.
- Liaise with Electrical Wholesalers to identify upcoming projects and supply products.
- Undertaking competitor analysis regularly.
- Ensuring effective customer relations and a positive company image is always maintained.
- Effectively using CRM to manage calls and call cycles.
- Preparing monthly sales forecasts and annual sales budgets in conjunction with the State Manager.
Your key skills and competencies will include:
- An electrical trade or engineering qualification is preferred, but not essential.
- Ability to engage in technical discussions with clients, demonstrating the capacity to interpret and analyse single line diagrams.
- Significant industry experience and current industry relationships, including with both wholesalers as well as Tier 2 & 3 level contractor relationships.
- A proven track record of achieving sales budgets and targets.
- Experience using CRM’s such as Sales Force.
- A structured and planned approach to sales.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
