Our client manufactures a range of LV to MV electrical motors for industrial markets – water, mining, oil & gas, power, sugar, food & beverage, and agriculture.
The position
Reporting to the Regional Manager, this position best suits an experienced, autonomous, outcome focused Business Development Manager with a hunter mentality.
You will work to improve your market position and achieve financial growth. You will do so by building key customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, negotiating, and closing business deals and maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
Duties include:
- Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
- Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organisation.
- Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
- Plan approaches and pitches.
- Work with the internal team to develop proposals that meet the client’s needs and objectives, as well as overcome their objections.
- Participate in pricing the solution/service.
- Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
Skills & experience required:
- Electrical Trade Certificate or Electrical Engineering Degree is preferred, but not essential.
- Strong Electrical industry experience/relationships plus motor/VSD knowledge is preferred.
- Hunter mentality and the ability to identify new business opportunities and close deals.
- Experience using and managing CRM systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to work as part of a team, to learn and to create solutions.
