The Opportunity
Location: Geelong, VIC, Melbourne, VIC or Sydney, NSW
Full-time (38 hrs p/week)
Workplace type: Hybrid eastern seaboard travel is required
Due to continued business growth and recent category expansion, Basford Brands are seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to join our team. A newly created role, to manage, nurture & further grow Basford Brands’ diverse product portfolio.
Reporting to the General Manager of Sales, the role will manage key accounts and support existing field managers by becoming a product expert in our blind and Ready-Made categories.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate Lasting Relationships. Managing Key Accounts in a technical fabric sales space.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop creative, tailor-made solutions that cater to our customers' unique needs and drive category leadership.
- Report, develop and implement commercial business plans with a key drive to maximise distribution and profitable outcomes.
- Analyse and understand key performance drivers and insights in order to build a deeper understanding of our products and customers
- Developing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of industry trends, business products and value proposition
- Train and support existing field sales team
Experience and Key Personal Qualities
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales and New Business Management.
- Industry experience highly regarded: Window Furnishings / Home Textiles
- Keen eye for opportunities: you'll identify new prospects and create innovative strategies to expand our reach.
- Advanced negotiating skills
- Solid strategic and analytical skills
- Excellent relationship management: ability to connect with people, establish trust, and maintain strong partnerships will be instrumental in driving growth
- Excellent communication skills including written/oral/presentation
- Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask
- University degree in Business or related field
