Job description

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in driving the expansion of our national client base. 

This exciting opportunity involves working with a diverse range of products and complex consulting solutions, supporting both corporate and SME clients throughout their employee lifecycle. We help our clients develop strategies that put the health and wellbeing of employees at the centre of their business.

About the Role:

As the Business Development Manager, your primary responsibility will be to identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with our value proposition. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sales strategies for both products and complex consulting solutions, while establishing productive and professional relationships with key personnel.

We are open to this role being based in our Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Drive sales growth for Gallagher by developing and implementing a new strategic business sales plan for the business to deliver profitable and sustainable new business opportunities that align with our value proposition
  • Develop and maintain a new business sales pipeline through prospect identification
  • Identifying, pursuing and nurture new business opportunities that align with our value proposition
  • Qualify opportunities and client needs to create successful outcomes
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of services to clients. Working closely with subject matter experts (SME’s) throughout the sales process where required to support closing the sale.
  • Attend networking opportunities to develop relationships with potential prospects
  • Undertake research and maintain up-to-date data on key new business prospects
  • Analyse and monitor performance against new business sales budgets
  • Understand the tender process from start to finish
  • Manage own time and priorities with competing deadlines 

About you

  • Strategic thinking: A strategic mindset is essential for identifying market trends, evaluating competitive landscapes, and identifying target markets to develop and execute strategic plans to identify new business opportunities.
  • Persistence and resilience: high level of perseverance resilience in the face of challenges. You learn from failures, adapt their approach, and continue to pursue new leads.
  • Networking and relationship-building skills: Building and nurturing a professional network is a key aspect of the role. You should have the ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients, industry influencers, and potential partners to generate new business opportunities.
  • Analytical and strategic selling skills: The ability to analyse data, identify patterns and opportunities for ‘cross-selling’, and translate insights into meaningful strategies. You should be skilled in presenting solutions that align with client needs, demonstrating the value proposition of their services.
